Hearing the word guns makes you think of weapons and firearms. However, some guns are used for recreational purposes, collecting, sports, and battle. Surprisingly, some can even be used for fun. Airsoft guns are toy replicas of traditional firearms used for target practicing and fun. What exactly are airsoft guns you ask?
Airsoft guns are toy guns that are molded after real firearms however; they shot pellets instead of real bullets. The pellets are expelled from the barrel of the gun by either a spring mechanism or compressed gas. Regular bullets are expelled from a gun by an explosion. Pellets are made from soft metal such as cooper or plastic whereas bullets are made of lead and fire powder.
Airsoft guns should not be treated as toys. Someone using the recreational gun should be at least 16 years of age and taught proper handling techniques. There are some recreational sites that require airsoft users to be 18 years of age. Airsoft guns are usually harmless but protective gear is highly suggested. The pellets usually will not penetrate the skin however at certain velocities and distances it could especially if the pellets are made of a soft metal.

Getting into airsoft guns as a hobby generally requires taking a few moments to learn a bit about what these toy replica guns are and how they’re normally used by enthusiasts and hobbyists. For one, these sorts of replica toy guns fire soft plastic or rubber BBs at high enough velocities to make them a fun and exciting activity to take part in.
For the most part, these replica guns are extremely detailed, and can resemble the actual thing in every aspect, at least to the untrained eye. They come in a variety of types and kinds, including handguns, shotguns and rifles — especially those kinds of rifles that looked like the military version, such as the M4 carbine.
Usually, airsoft guns of the military rifle variety seem to attract many rookie or just-learning hobbyists and enthusiasts. As an example, the M4 carbine with attached grenade launcher is the most popular model of replica toy guns sold on the market, at present. To add a bit of safety, most makers of such toy guns will add a neon colored or orange colored tip to the muzzle.

As people begin to train their young boys and girls to hunt they are turning to airsoft guns to do the job. Your children will be making life long memories as you take them out and give them the tools that they will need to be excellent hunters. Give them all that you can and let them learn to hunt from the best that there is.
The airsoft guns that are available are much safer than a gun with actual live bullets. They are powered by air and they shoot rubber bb’s. The actual bullets are a lot more deadly than the bb. These guns are perfect for the young hunter in the family.
You can begin by letting them shoot their airsoft gun in your back yard at a paper target. The paper targets are very inexpensive and can be purchased at any store that has a sporting goods section. Walk into any toy shop and will find an array of airsoft guns that looks just like real weapons. This super realistic aspect makes these weapons very popular with children as well as grown ups, and sales thereof have sky rocketed in the last few years.
The manufacturing of these weapons came about to satisfy gamers who use them for mock fights in super realistic conditions; conditions which mimic real life scenarios where people are shooting at each other. This adrenalin filled sport is growing in popularity all over the world. The firing mechanisms of these fakes differ from the real thing in that gun powder fires the bullets from real weapons.
Many different propellants are used to fire bullets at different speeds from airsoft guns. Guns may work with air that is highly compressed while others use gasses or even a spring. Gas propelled guns seems to be overtaking the other models in preference as they have tremendous firing power.
Airsoft guns which use propane, an inert gas, to fire bullets, are fast becoming the best sellers under these sort of toys. The propane is contained inside the gun and this little container should be refilled regularly to keep the weapon working. The distinct smell the propane gives after firing, fool users to imagine that they have fired a real gun.

The modern world is filled with movies and games that involve gunplay. While it may not be the healthiest things for young kids to watch, older ones have enough understanding to play out movie and gaming fantasies in many ways. One such way in which this is done is with airsoft guns.
These guns are harmless copies of real guns, and an airsoft version exists for almost any type of gun out there, big or small. Airsoft guns are made in such a way that their usage imitates real guns as much as possible. They even let you experience blowback, which is the recoil action that persists after shooting a real gun. Airsoft pellets are used as ammunition in these guns.
While they may look like harmless toy guns, there are some risks involved when using them. The main concern is eye injury, because while plastic pellets travel too slow and are too soft to penetrate the skin, the same cannot be said for the delicate human eye. Wearing eye goggles during play is the best way to protect them from harm.

Airsoft guns were designed because of need that was recognized by manufacturers. The need was in Japan, back in the 1970s. One could not own a firearm as it was illegal. So, manufacturers designed the airsoft gun. They incorporated knock-off military design with plastic BBs for ammunition. The ammunition is considered safe as the plastic BBs will not penetrate the skin.
The first airsoft guns were spring-powered, single-shot weapons. After each shot, one would have to physically pull a lever, bolt, or other form of mechanism to reload the chamber with more ammunition. This makes the shooting process slow. The guns are cheap to purchase and you can be sure that they will always work. They do not rely upon any outside power source.
As the years passed, manufacturers incorporated new technology into the weapon. The electric-powered airsoft guns were developed. This gun operated off of an electric motor that was powered by batteries. This gun had its limits. If the batteries went dead, you could not fire the gun. On the other hand, the electric-powered guns were available in automatics and semi-automatics.

Airsoft guns are air powered replicas of real guns. These guns were originally created in China, were the government had made fire-arms illegal and citizens still wanted to collect them. Manufacturers stepped forward and provided the first airsoft guns to these Chinese citizens who desired guns but could not get their hands on the real things. These first guns worked similar to American made BB guns in that they used pellets (plastic BB’s). In time all of these guns were standardized to carry a particular millimeter pellet.
These weapons eventually were adapted to include guns that were powered by gas or battery and as these guns became more and more popular a sport developed. This sport simply known as airsoft is basically a big boy version of Cowboy and Indians or capture the flag. This hobby eventually traveled across the ocean to the United States and became popular there as well.
Airsoft guns are manufactured in China, Japan and other oriental countries. Air soft gun manufacturers have become more popular in an attempt to supply the ever growing desire for these replicas. Guns that are sold to the United States are required to have distinctive orange markings.
